Virtual Holocaust Memorial Day

Northampton Borough Council will host a virtual programme of activities marking the Holocaust Memorial Day on Wednesday, 27 January.

New strategy to deliver Carbon Neutral Northampton by 2030

Northampton Borough Council Cabinet members are set to discuss a proposed strategy that aims to deliver a net zero carbon, zero waste and climate resilient town by 2030.

It is hoped the ambitious Carbon Neutral Northampton 2030 plan will help tackle climate change and protect the health and wellbeing of future generations.

Plan to protect sheep at Upton Country Park

Northampton Borough Council is set to consider proposed changes to a Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) covering Upton Country Park.

A new section of the park was opened earlier this year and since then there have been several incidents of dogs off leads attacking sheep.

Free Christmas parking in Northampton

Northampton Borough Council and the Northampton Town Centre BID have partnered to offer free Christmas parking on Saturdays throughout December.

Every Saturday from tomorrow will be free in all multi-storey car parks, though motorists should be aware that there will still be charges for surface car parks and Northamptonshire County Council's on-street parking.

Lockdown grants still available for businesses

Although Northampton has returned to a tiered system of coronavirus restrictions, businesses forced to close over the lockdown can still apply to receive funding support.

So far, £696,846 from the £2.913 million discretionary business grant scheme has been disbursed to 421 applicants.
